Residential Conveyancing Secretary

We are seeking an experienced Full Time Residential Conveyancing Secretary to join our Residential Conveyancing Department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 18 months experience in a similar role and will fully understand the conveyancing processes. This role requires excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and proficiency in various IT applications to manage documentation and client interactions effectively.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist the Conveyancing Fee Earner with the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction.
  • Prepare/Type legal documents, including contracts and transfer deeds.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Utilise audio typing skills to transcribe correspondence and legal documents efficiently.
  • Organise workload effectively to assist the Conveyancing Fee Earner to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Follow Fee Earner instructions when providing updates to clients on the progress of their transactions.

 

Requirements

 

  • Proven experience as a Residential Conveyancing Secretary or in a similar role within property law.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software systems as required.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on client care.
  • Attention to detail is paramount to ensure accuracy in all documentation

  • 20 days’ holiday per annum (plus statutory Bank Holidays) - increases to 25 days following 5 years service

  • Salary - Negotiable - dependent on experience

 

The Conveyancing Secretary role is office based, Monday to Friday, 9am until 5.15pm.
