"You can't tell just by looking at someone what they are dealing with inside."
Mental illness affects many people at some stage of their lives. We pride ourselves on providing professional, compassionate and expert legal advice on this specialised area of law.
We provide advice and representation to those who are suffering with mental health problems and are either compulsorily detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 or engaging with mental health services on an informal basis.
We offer a wide range of services to assist those requiring assistance regarding the Mental Health legislation to include, but not restricted to, the following:
Representation before the Mental Health Tribunal;
Representation before the Managers Hearing;
Attendance and advice at Care Programme Approach (CPA) Meetings or Section 117 Aftercare Meeting;
Advice and assistance in relation to treatment under the Mental Health Act; and
Advice and assistance to families of those detained under the Mental Health Act.
We hold a franchise with the Legal Aid Agency to conduct our services for Mental Health Law. Those who need advice to apply to and representation before the Mental Health Tribunal are automatically eligible for legal representation under the Legal Help Scheme. Legal Help is also available for a wide range of other advice and representation services that we are able to provide.
